Wow! What a day – and a reminder that we have one of the greatest volunteer families on earth. Everyone worked so hard and so well together to get so much done for the dogs. All of the kennels were raked out and received new hay. Every doghouse and every bed was pressure washed. The acreage was mowed and weed whacked. And best of all? Every single one of the dogs was able to get out of their kennels today for some one-on-one attention and walks. Many of them also put some field time in learning agility. We have lots of profiles to update now that we’ve discovered their hidden skills.
We welcomed some incredible new volunteers (who worked even harder than the veterans). Debbie couldn’t make it, but sent us an Italian Ice truck of yummy goodness at lunch. Sean helped out the weary workers at the end of the day with some chiropractic TLC.
Hard work has never been this much fun. We can’t wait until the next one in fall. Thank you to everyone for busting your butts all day and making a huge difference. You are incredible people! Donna and the dogs are thankful beyond words. Sleep well tonight.
