December was all about fundraising. Between our Angel Tree Drive, the awesome people we met at Whole Foods, and lots of individuals and businesses wanting to get in those last-minute tax-deductible donations, we were able to hook all of the dogs up with everything they needed … and pay off some overdue vet bills. Woo-hoo! What an amazing end to an amazing year.

Angel Tree Magic

We kicked off our  annual Angel Tree Drive on Dec. 9. For the third year in a row, we teamed up with Intown Healthy Hound in Grant Park to host a tree and ask for donations from their store to the dogs. Also joining us this year was Dog City II in Sandy Springs. And, of course, we gave our outside-Atlanta supporters a chance to give to the dogs through our Amazon Wish List.

To say that it was a success is an understatement. Barely a day went by that packages weren’t arriving on our doorstep. Because of you, the dogs literally received everything they needed (from food and toys, to beds and blanket coats) … and then some! On top of that, you sent monetary donations to help with needs for the dogs year-round. We are still reeling from the outpouring of support and cannot thank you enough for making this holiday season nothing short of magical.

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

Although most of our volunteer team was traveling for the holidays and/or spending it with their two-legged families, we still made sure to “take it to the public” at least once in December. After an awesome event at Whole Foods Buckhead in July, we returned for another Saturday morning to greet visitors and introduce our dogs. Even though it was rainy and cold, the Whole Foods staff took such great care of us and the dogs. We can’t wait to return next year.
