Pippin’s Story

Howdy, everyone! Pippin here. You’ve seen me “tease” you a bit in the last few weeks on our Facebook page. I arrived at rescue in February and won over everyone’s heart at an impromptu vol day … then I just kind of disappeared from rescue. Why? I had those nasty heartworms and needed fast kill, which means I needed a few rounds of treatment and a lot of crate rest. So, off to foster care I went with former GA JRT rescues, Cobb and Carson. Don’t think I’ve just been sleeping all day, though. I’ve been having a lot of fun with my foster brothers (and, of course, our parents, who can drive), going places and meeting people.

My history? Well, from what they know about me, my mom could no longer care for me, so she gave me to a “trusted friend” with whom she thought I would be safe. Nope! That friend turned me into kill shelter. Why? No one seems to know as I am a perfect, little guy. No, seriously … perfect! Am I a Jack Russell? Sure! But I have a wonderful temperament — I absolutely love everyone I meet and am a bit of a snuggle-bug. Want a buddy by your side? Look no further, I’m you’re guy! I’m all about affection, belly rubs, kisses and quality time. I also love other dogs of all sizes. My foster brother gets tons of kisses … just ask him.

So, what’s up now? I am now halfway through my heartworm treatment. I have to rest for another 30 days, but after that? I should be good as new and ready to roll into a new home, so we they are starting to take applications for me now. I will also be at City Dog Market’s 9th birthday party on April 15, if you’d like to come out and meet me … and fall in love with me … Trust me, everyone who meets me falls in love with me. I can’t help it.

Those other details? I’m around 2 years old and 16 lbs. of puddin’ pop muscle! I’m also house trained and I love sleeping in a crate. Again — I’m perfect!
