Hi, everyone! Little Megan here. I spent my first 10 years of life in Florida as a breeder dog. Then our breeder passed and nine other JRTs and I didn’t have any place to go. Ruh-roh! Thankfully, Almost Home Rescue stepped in and, with the help of other rescues, found us places to go. I ended up here at GA JRT with Rusty, who you will meet soon.
I was absolutely terrified when I first arrived, but am starting to settle in and get adjusted to things. Sudden movements and loud noises still scare me, but I am meeting lots of nice people who want the best for me and learning trust. I’m also incredibly treat-motivated, so that helps a lot. (wink, wink) I love the sound of squeaky toys, but I’m still not quite sure what to do with them. Everyone says that I’ll probably be a confident, wild woman after a couple more weeks at “JRT-U.” I’m pretty sure I will. I just need to get used to being doted on.
I’m a little skinny right now, but they’re working on that. Again, good thing I am treat motivated! I also need a long, luxurious bath and a more extensive vet visit, but we wanted to get my story out there and let you know I’m here. I’m ready to spend the second chapter of my life in a home with someone who understands my history and has the patience, understanding and TLC to turn a “breeder b**” (we don’t use that word around here) into a spoiled, little girl.
