Cross’ Story

Hey, everybody! Little Cross here. I was pulled from the kill shelter in South Carolina in the spring of 2016, but was very sick with a heartworm infection. I went to foster care for some TLC and treatments and finally arrived here in Georgia at the rescue ranch in August.

Unfortunately, those nasty worms have left me with some slight damage to my heart. They are treating me with Vetmedin, which has helped some of the other dogs here recover from the damage. I was pretty low-key at first, but then I went to foster care to live the good life … and the Terrier in me is definitely coming out! I love chasing squirrels, rabbits and other critters in my big backyard with my foster brother. We’ve almost caught a few, too! One day we’ll get ’em, just wait and see. For now? I am feeling healthier and happier than I’ve been in a long time.

I get along fine with other dogs and should be able to fit right in with a canine brother or sister. I’m around 4 years and about 21 lbs. (mostly legs).
