Sweet, sweet Julie … oh, how we barely knew ye … Julie and her sister, Ruby, were born into foster care in late July. They spent the majority of those formative weeks with their beautiful mama, Gracie, before coming to rescue last weekend to be put up for adoption.

They had barely arrived when Ode and his beautiful family, the Whites, visited to meet some of our dogs and pick out Ode’s new playmate to adopt. Ode liked several dogs, but he really hit it off with the girls. It was a hard decision, but Julie took to him (Ruby is more of a people person) and that sealed the deal. He had found his new little sister, and they took her home on Saturday.

And today? She is now known as Alex and could not be happier in her forever home. The pictures say it all.

Congratulations to this sweet baby and thank you to the Whites for staying in touch these past several weeks, for considering all of the options, and for dedicating your time to raising this beautiful baby the rest of the way. What a happy tail for everyone … no pun intended for Alex, who was born without one.

And thank you again, Shirley, for the incredible care and TLC you gave both of these girls during the most formative weeks of their lives. We can’t wait to see what they both grow up to be!
