We are saddened to announce that our little Lucy went to the Rainbow Bridge over the weekend. This sweet, senior girl was picked up from the kill shelter a year ago. She was about 10 years old and was severely underweight at around 8 lbs.

She spent all of her time with us in fabulous foster care, trying to get better so she could reach adoptable status. She battled one illness after another, and even got better a few months ago, thanks a lot of vet visits, special diet, and tons of TLC care from her foster family. Then, due to kidney disease, her health began to go downhill again over the last couple of months. She became a picky eater and, a few days ago, stopped eating altogether.

The vet assured us this was the right thing to due and even promised her “there’s no kidney disease in doggie heaven and no needles or any need for fluids.”

We will miss this sweet little girl, especially her foster parents, who cared for her as one of their own this past year. Goodbye, sweetheart. We know you are out of pain and hanging out with all of the other rescues who left before you.
