I Was A Special Needs FosterHappy Friday, everyone! It’s that time of year when a lot of people reach out to us for help with dogs in shelters as, unfortunately, a lot of dogs end up in shelters at this time of year. Unfortunately, we are at the capacity that we can handle right now. It may not look like we have a lot of dogs right now to some, but …

It’s already been a cold “winter” in Georgia (even if it just officially started yesterday). That means that we have to keep the dogs in the inside (heated) kennel the majority of the time instead of letting them outside in their runs all day … and that, as you can probably assume, means multiple trips of taking each and every one of them outside several times a day to do their business and get some sunshine and exercise. Because of that (and our limited volunteer coverage during this holiday/travel season), we have to keep our numbers at a minimum.

In addition, we have had several special-needs or senior dogs who have had to have various medical procedures done. They require extra care.

If anything this winter, we could use help — either more volunteer help at the rescue or help with fosters, so the dogs can live in a home and either learn or remember what it’s like — not to mention stay warm! All of our current fosters are full.

If you live in the Atlanta area and are interested in becoming a foster parent, you can find out more information on our website at the link below. Thank you!
